Day 3 – Ho’oponopono - to restore balance

My name is Richard Obernesser, and my journey began in the spirited community of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Growing up, I was surrounded by a blend of old-school values and a rebellious new-school confidence. This environment taught me the importance of respecting elders and helping those who couldn't advocate for themselves. It also instilled in me a sense of collective confidence and risk-taking, making my childhood feel much like an adventure straight out of "Stand by Me." This ever-changing landscape of friendships and experiences shaped my ability to connect with diverse personalities, a skill that would prove invaluable in my life's work.
Life has not been without its challenges. The struggles within my marriage led me on a path of personal development, where I realized
the importance of moving beyond self-absorption to truly connect with others. My turning point came when I nearly lost my wife, Karla, whose
kindness and empathy guided me back to the light. Together, we embarked on a journey of attending and eventually leading retreats, transforming our personal experiences into a mission to help others.
Today, as a professionally trained and certified coach, I have the privilege of facilitating retreats alongside Karla. Our work is dedicated to fostering life-giving relationships that can withstand adversity. We offer tangible skills and exercises that help couples claim their path to meaningful connections.
